Equity Services and iSee

 "Island Student Education Endowment"

The Vision of Equity Services and iSee, (Island Student Education Endowment), is to establish self-funding College Education in each of the 50 States, beginning in Hawaii with our benchmark project.

Students wanting to attend college in the State of Hawaii may apply for funding which has been earned from the Equity Services property portfolio.  Funding is available for applicants who qualify for iSee by meeting our standards for academic achievement and voluntary social work in their community.

Our vision begins with the acquisition of a portfolio of income producing Hawaiian apartment properties.  The property portfolio is to generate an on-going source of funding to support the iSee program.

Equity Services strives to maintain affordable housing for persons of need within the community at an affordable price.

The iSee program enables high school students residing in Hawaii to apply while in their sophomore or Junior years for college funding.  Special emphasis goes to applicants whose family income may not otherwise allow them to attend college, but everyone is encouraged to apply.

One of the requirements for high school students is that they demonstrate their support to the community working as a volunteer with a social services program of their choice.  iSee encourages applicants not only to lend their time to their community but to also maintain strong personal values within the family.  Applicants must also demonstrate their ambitions for higher education by attaining a minimum 3.0 GPA while in high school and beyond.

iSee provides funding for students interested in a career in the fields of medicine, sciences, commuter technology, teaching, and law.  These fields may change as iSee determines the future needs of the Hawaiian Island communities.

The iSee Goal

The goal of Equity Services and iSee is to establish a self-funding Education Endowment fund by having access to the income generated by the rental properties Equity Services manages.  The property portfolio will consist of approximately 150 medium to low income apartment units located in Hawaii.  The property portfolio is expected to generate $100,000 per month for the iSee endowment project.  Funds earned are to be placed in compounding vehicles available through MoneyMax.  Our program expects to provide the first iSee funding for the class of 2010.

Equity Services apartment portfolio will provide accessible housing accommodating persons with special needs, persons living on fixed income, and low-income to create the following rent mix:

25% renovated for persons with special needs.

25% rented to persons living on fixed income.

25% designated to low-income families.

25% open to families of students in the iSee program, and others - to maintain full occupancy.

Students entering high school in 2007 are eligible to apply for the iSee program.  Successful applicants may receive paid enrollment, tuition, books, as well as funding toward housing and public transportation (where available).  College students will also be eligible to receive a medical and dental insurance program while enrolled in college.

Students must meet the following criteria to apply for consideration:

• High school students must apply while attending a
Hawaii State, public or private study program as a sophomore or junior

• Provide a program advisor's referral letter
• Achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Students much be accepted to a Hawaii State College within one year of graduating from high school

• Provide two letters of recommendation (not from a relative)
• Major in medicine, sciences, computer technologies, teaching or law.

• Students must submit a referral letter from a qualified Hawaiian community social service program showing at least 2-years voluntary community service.  In addition, continue voluntary service work while receiving iSee funding.
• Letter of intent from the applicant and submit a completed application form.

Through the efforts of Equity Services, iSee is able to provide Hawaii with community minded, skilled professionals majoring in jobs of the future.
